Chakras - According to ancient Indian wisdom, chakras (pronounced cha-kra, with a hard ch, like in chair), are spinning "wheels" of life force energy centers in the body that lie along the body's many energy pathways.  Chakras correspond to certain glands, nerve centers, and organs in the body.  They are a part of the subtle energy body, not the physical body, so they are not detected by standard medical equipment.  

Chakras act in similar to a barometer of your internal self's "weather".

Chakras are energy centers. Although most people have heard of seven chakras, there are actually 114 in the body. The human body is a complex energy form; in addition to the 114 chakras, it also has 72,000 “nadis,” or energy channels, along which vital energy, or “prana,” moves.

Each chakra has a seed sound that when chanted, is thought to awaken that chakra.

What is a chakra healing?

Each chakra is located throughout our body so that it correlates to specific body ailment and physical dysfunctions; each energy center also houses our mental and emotional strengths.

Chakra balancing, chakra cleansing and chakra healing all have to do with making sure that the chakras are functioning correctly. Energy in the chakras can become blocked so that they don’t function at their maximum potential. This can result in mental, physical and psychological disturbances. Chakra healing is the process in clearing these blockages so that they can function properly.

Can I receive a distant chakra healing?  Will it have the same effect as an in-person healing session?

Yes!  Distance energy healing energy is transferred over great distances because we are all interconnected.  Obviously, there may be more intensity in an in-person Chakra healing session or group class, but nonetheless will still assist a receiving individual with blockages of energy.
